RED OAK VICTORY - BRIDGE, FIRST VIEW

The principal feature of the Bridge (or more correctly, the Wheelhouse) is the ship's main steering wheel. The wheel is supported by the telemotor; on either side of the telemotor are two (2) compasses, one (1) a Sperry gyro-repeater , the other a magnetic compass. In the corner with a black rubber hood is the ship's radar. On the forward bulkhead is the ship's speed indicator and the rudder-angle indicator. A clinometer is forward of the engine-room telegraph. The ship's whistle handle is mounted to the left of the clinometer. Next to the small desk is the Captain's chair. On the rear bulkhead is the ship's General Alarm switch. Below that is a window to view the ship's chart table
